On my Fellowship with Michael Blake For Public Advocate, I took on the role of aiding the Manhattan Borough Director Sophia Lajaunie on phone banks and Distribution of flyers. During the weeks of the election, I would have invited classmates to go out on 161st and distribute flyers to people leaving the 4 Train, or head over to the Blake office in 125th St. In Harlem and make calls. In the last week of the election, I was at the public advocate last debate hosted by Al Sharpton. In total, I did 100 hours of service, 726 calls and recruited 10 people to volunteer.

New York On Tech Tech-360

Feb - April 2019

New York On Tech, Tech 360 was a beginner course for coding, where I learned all that I know about coding. During this course, I learned how to use HTML, CSS and JavaScript and other 3rd party Extensions like bootstrap and CSS animation. In this program, we had teams where we competed on developing a website for dummy companies.

UX Design

The UX Design Program is a 6-week program for rising high school juniors and seniors. In this course, I was able to complete the entire cycle of user experience design beginning with understanding users and product issues and ending with a market-ready, clickable design prototype. By the end of the course, I was able to: Conduct user research and define a product strategy Identify target users and issues they encounter with a product Develop solutions to design a product suited for these users Create and test a prototype Package designs into a presentable form for future internship and job opportunities

In Data Club, I was able to learn how to harness the power of data. I was able to learn how to answer questions with data, how to find stories in data, and even how to lie with data. In this program I was able to learn how to visualize and analyze data, understand how people use data to mislead (and how not to get tricked). Analyze real data sets, Learn Google Sheets, Tableau, and MySQL. Use machine learning to make predictions with data.
